NOLO TAKES AIM AT HAWAII — STORM COULD BECOME A MAJOR HURRICANE
Tropical Storm Nolo is rapidly strengthening south of Hawaii, and forecasters are warning that the storm could become a major hurricane as it approaches the Big Island this weekend.
As of Thursday afternoon, Nolo had maximum sustained winds of about 70 mph and was located roughly 285 miles south of South Point on the Big Island.

A tropical system south of Mexico is rapidly organizing, and forecasters are warning that it could become a major hurricane within days.
The system, designated Tropical Depression Seventeen-E, was located about 285 miles south of Manzanillo, Mexico, Sunday afternoon.
The National Hurricane Center reported maximum sustained winds of about 35 mph, but conditions around the depression are highly favorable for strengthening.

Dujuan is expected to make its closest approach to eastern Japan on Monday, September 21, putting the Kanto region—including the Tokyo area—on alert during Japan’s Silver Week holiday.
The Japan Meteorological Agency says the storm is expected to pass close to the Kanto-Koshin region Monday afternoon and evening before accelerating northeastward.
