If the Full Blood Moon Wasn’t Apocalyptic Enough…
We’ve got a crazy fire threat tomorrow (Friday) across the Southern Plains, and it’s no joke. Then, just to keep things interesting, Saturday brings a severe weather outbreak with a serious tornado threat. Buckle up, folks—it’s going to be a wild weekend.
The fun starts early tomorrow here in OKC around 7 am.
Dry air, strong winds, and warm temps are creating perfect conditions for wildfires across parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and New Mexico. Any spark—a cigarette, a campfire, even dragging chains on a truck—could start a fast-moving fire. If you live in these areas, take this seriously!
Fire Safety & Prevention Tips
NO burning—avoid outdoor fires, BBQs, or anything that could throw sparks.
Don’t toss cigarettes—put them out completely in a safe container.
Secure trailer chains—loose chains hitting the road can spark fires.
Have a plan—know your evacuation route in case a fire starts near you.
Stay weather-aware—watch for Red Flag Warnings and fire updates.
Once a fire starts, it will spread FAST. We’ve seen too many towns and homes lost because of wildfire outbreaks—let’s not add to that list.
I’ll be keeping an eye on it and updating as things unfold. Stay safe, be smart, and DO NOT take risks with fire.
